With a hospitality industry legacy that includes Le Meredien and MGM MIRAGE/Dubai World’s CityCenter, Melisa Michelle Saad (Executive Chef and Vice President of Marketing for Caliber Hospitality) understands luxury. Having traveled and studied extensively thought the world, she is a second-generation hospitality developer and marketer. An admitted connoisseur of travel and luxury hospitality destinations, recent travels to Macau, Hong Kong, Switzerland, London, Greece, Italy, France, Dubai Ecuador and Canada compliment her extensive cache of international hospitality experiences.
Her hospitality career started in San Diego, California, working for the Bahia Hotel, a family-owned resort in Pacific Beach. With the kindling set for a career in hospitality, Melisa Michelle traveled abroad to attend culinary school at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, France where she received her Chef Diplome de Cuisine and since then has had the opportunity to work with renowned chefs for exclusive events.
Knowing her hospitality education was still beginning, Melisa chose to attend Hospitality Management School in Switzerland at Les Roches where she received her SHA diploma and Bachelors in Business with Marketing. Between her studies, she had various internship and staff opportunities and took several business courses in other countries. Among these courses and destinations were Shanghai where she studied culinary, business and economics, San Diego California where she worked in retail fashion for MAC cosmetics as a professional make up artist and sales associate, Thailand where she worked for Starwood’s Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort as Sales and Marketing Manager and in Baja California, Ensenada at the San Nicolas Hotel & Casino where she was Director of Marketing.
Following her graduation from Les Roche, she joined the corporate office of MGM MIRAGE / Dubai World’s joint venture CityCenter (initially Project CityCenter).
With an unfulfilled desire sparked by over eight years of international hospitality management and traveling, Melisa Michelle decided to return to Santa Monica, CA and join Caliber hospitality as the Executive Chef and Vice President of Marketing.
